Re: Not another one...
I read this last night and couldn't sleep out of worry as to how the press will stir things up .There must be more to this story than they are letting on though.

Re: Not another one...
I'm sure there's more to this than meets the headlines, either way this unfortunately is bad press for our beloved breed

Poor dog, the owner sounds like an idiot. More to this than meets the eye.

Re: Not another one...
They never followed up in the press on this one though did they because there are so many things wrong with this story.
All the neighbours said this was a good dog
The guy was a drug addict
The guy had orders from the police about having loud parties and had an order from the courts on his door after several complaints.
The dog had actually saved his life after he had a seizure by nudging him awake previously.
Where the dog had bitten was actually where the guy had been stabbed in neck very recently.
This whole sounds very dodgy, a dog living in these conditions can hardly be considered to have a good home but again no one cares about that.
I hate the press, the live for their staff/pit bull headlines.

Re: Not another one...
Just seen this today about that story.. explains it.. no conditions for a dog to be living in at all.

Re: Not another one...
Yes I saw that yesterday, shame they aren't making more headlines about it. Can anyone truly blame the breed when they read the actual facts? This dog helped his owner when he had attacks previously, there was no way this dog would just turn for no reason.
Honestly I hate humans who could treat their dogs like this. It's an honour to have an animal, not a right.

Re: Not another one...
It's always the case though, isn't it? Dog kills = big headline. Dog reacting to some sort of human abuse/mismanagement = a couple of lines on page 9 if you're lucky.

Re: Not another one...
As usual its the dim witted owners at fault here. How many times have we seen Mr Chav baseball hat back to front , chunky collar and chain lead , trousers round his ankles walking along with his penis extension being the poor dog ? The press should realise its not the breed as any breed can be turned nasty with the wrong ownership. its the knuckle headed owners that are to blame again and again ! The staff is a beautiful breed that needs respect to give the best, sadly they don't get that with these morons and eventually turn nasty through ill treatment !
