Has anyone seen this before?
I have noticed some black spots on Moka's skin. They look almost like freckles, they dont seem to bother him or itch and i can only find them where the fur is naturally thin or bare like under arms... I don't think it is anything serious so thought i would give it a shot asking on here before a trip to the vets. He also has a very small patch on his head where the fur is quite thin, it hasn't changed in size, doesn't seem to be getting any worse, however i would like some advice as to what it is and if there's a treatment. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

They're actually on his skin, i.e. not flea dirt? In which case I don't know. I'd personally get it checked, just in case.

Yes i'm fairly sure its not flee dirt, he hasn't got flees as far as i am aware. Initially i thought it was some sort of dirt and tried to wash it off but it doesn't go. Health wise he seems great and doesn't itch... I think it maybe freckles or some sort of pigment thing on his skin. But i will take him to the vets just in case. Thanks.

If they aren't raised or sore then I would say they are peobably freckles but as they are all together it's best to get them checked out. The small patch on top of the head looks like a "hot spot" which my girl had when in the rescue centre. It's easily treated.

Re: Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks for your help Ian. I will have to have it checked out at the vets. I did some more googling yesterday and think i have narrowed the black spots down to a yeast infection. Il take a trip to the vets and report back.
cheers
