Can I be absolutely honest? When I saw the shots you posted before the alarm bells rang. It's not just the colour but also the head and body shape.
Sorry, that's not putting your mind at rest at all I'm dithering even posting this as I don't want to upset you but in your place I think I'd probably be contacting DDA Watch for advice.

Thanks I've been posting pics to see if I had a reaction... Will his head shape etc not change only being 6 months?

Re: . Anyone else have a Staffies this colour?
It could well, as could his body shape.
I do have some experience with pitbull IDs, I volunteer at a rescue where I do the photography, including the ID shots we have to send to the police. I can't remember the age over which we have to get them IDed, but if old enough I'm fairly sure he'd fall foul.
I'm really struggling what to suggest for the best, which is why I think a call to DDA Watch might be a good idea. As far as I know there is no longer anything proactive you can do but they are very experienced and will be able to tell you. In your shoes, I would be arming myself with as much information as possible, so you know where you are.

taking into account the nose colour, i'd say your dog is a liver coloured stafford. a bit lighter than some, but still...

He's a handsome boy alright! Stunning.
One thing to remember is that as he's only a pup he may change colour yet. Mine did! He started off blue, and within his first year changed to a brownish brindle.
I think it's quite common for staffs to change colour, you don't know what you're going to end up with, but they're all lovely any way!

Simply beautiful. Not entirely convinced about the ridgeback though. Do you know what made her say that?

Re: . Anyone else have a Staffies this colour?
Not sure she spoke to my husband she said about his colouring and nose shape etc she said he prob won't get much taller but will fill out.. he does have a very subtle line all the way down his back and have googled that particular mix and found a few images although I know that's not 100% accurate they have been quite similar..
On doing a bit of research it may we'll be why he has a lighter nose.. and may be coincidence but he does have some Ridgeback traits..

Re: . Anyone else have a Staffies this colour?
I had a staff pup bought for me as a companion after my 25 Yr old dalmatian passed away. I'm so surprised how caring and loving Harli is.
Harli has long legs of which seemed strange to me and her colour is red. A beautiful colour.
Harli get spoilt out in public, with strokes from locals and walking police officers (who think she is stunning).
Our vet stated she is a staffy... But also a cross.
Harli is 9 months old now!

Hi Sulli & welcome.
Your pup's gorgeous, but not red! She's either fawn or liver - difficult to tell from that avatar photo. But her nose is brown, so there's a dilute gene which will make her fawn or liver, but I think more likely a rich fawn.

Nice dog, probably a bit of JR as said above. Sometimes the mixes are better temperament wise so it might be a good thing. Too much inbreeding going on in certain lines of "pure" staffs for my liking.
Anyway, lovely looking dog.

as far as temperament towards humans this couldn't be more wrong. mixes are whats getting staffies a bad name, and pure bred staff is probably THE most human friendly dog on the planet, and most staffies attacks on people are usually mixes with other breeds that dilute the fantastic temperament staffies have.
although mixes may have better temperaments with other dogs...
most staffies out there now are crosses

by the fact most arent proven staffords with papers, and nearly all fall outside breed standards.
wheres the proof that these "staffords" without a pedigree are staffords?

You miss my point.
You said yourself that many registered dogs are not bred to standard - so those dogs you see who don't, in your opinion, match the breed standard may well be KC registered dogs.
Your statement is fundamentally wrong. Unless you ask the owner of every Stafford you see whether their dog is registered or not, you cannot possibly know how many aren't.

i know because i check the puppy adverts most weeks. most are crosses and mongrels that arent registered.
when i say some KC dogs arent to standard, i mean they may be an inch or 2 taller, or maybe a little heavier.... but you can tell theyre staffies and resemble staffies. you can tell a proper KC reg staffie from a non kc reg staffie... even if the KC reg staffie isnt exactly to standard.
most staffies now dont resemble what a true staffie should be.

I don't have a dog at the moment, but I've had several in the past, including a stafford. All bar one of my dogs have been KC registered. The unregistered one was a Border Collie & she was every inch a BC.
Maybe you could actually introduce yourself & put some pics of your own dog(s) on here?

the question asked was "has anyone else got staffies this colour?"
she replied saying her dog was a similar colour, so i pointed out to the original poster that these dogs weren't staffordshire bull terriers.
no offence meant by it. i presume she thought her dogs were staffies originally, or she wouldn't be on a staffordshire bull terrier forum.

Re: . Anyone else have a Staffies this colour?
Just to let you guys know we bought our dogs at 12 weeks old as Staffies. As they have grown it has become apparent to us they are not true SBT. I had added another post asking for people opinion on if they were staffies. This being the reason I posted in SBT forum.
Peoples opinion was as we thought they are not SBT. There has also been comments that the original picture/post is not a Staffie, so I thought I would share a picture of my dog that was a similar colour and not a true Staffie either.
I thought x breeds were welcome too.

Absolutely, crosses are very welcome. I have 2!
I think most people on here love the breed for their character, regardless of purity of breeding. Of course there are arguments for keeping the breed pure to maintain it for the future but that doesn't mean that our crosses - often crossed with other bull breeds - aren't part of the staffy family. It's what they are at heart.
Roxy and Henri (and of course Dawn) are very welcome additions to our group .

Re: . Anyone else have a Staffies this colour?
My girl is 6- almost 7 months old and her mother is a pure bread English staff, & by accident:-/ her fathers a Way way waaaay bigger dog than the mothers size’! He’s a Boxer X staghound! & they had 3 surviving puppies between them, 2 girls & 1 male! & they are all soo different in colour and there features! Everyone thinks my girls a pitty all the time! But she’s not one part so you can’t always tell by these things the only real way to 100% prove someone’s dogs Pitbull? Test the dogs DNA to see if it is! Besides it’s not the breed it’s how you treat and teach a dog that says how it’s temperament and behaviour. All pups want to learn and play and be shown that effection and interaction is a positive good experience for the pup early and that will be what type off dog you raise, you should ban irresponsible neglectful and people with enough stupidity to raise the type of dog to be a monster, they should be baned from owning any breed of dog in that case, any dog can become a monster it’s there master who creates that dog. Not the dogs fault

Hello and welcome Kal-El.
Please don’t hesitate to drop into the New Members section so we can welcome you in style.
DNA testing might tell you what breeds your dog is genetically but in certain countries, the BSL is actually based on appearance not only breeding. I know, it’s far from logical but unfortunately, that’s the problem with BSL.
