Gulp Empty Gulp

When he is at all worried or upset, even just a teensie bit, Chaos does this audible, fairly high pitched gulp.

He does it for all sorts of things but especially when he gets asked to do something he's not keen on (waiting for something yummy, heeling on the road instead of going to a smell, getting off the bed briefly so I can claim some of the duvet before getting in). It's a sound that says 'oh pity me, I am the most hard done by little dog ever'.

Does anyone else's dog do this and, if so, do you also feel oh so guilty?

Laughing I can just hear the sigh now.

It's amazing how expressive such a simple sound as swallow or a breath can be. *sigh*

We get huffs n puffs and more recently when she climbs two flights of stairs to get a 5 min cuddle on the bed Flo will sit there looking up at me and whine to be picked up and put on the bed, where, she lays down right in the middle forcing me to have an edge of the bed getting a cold butt !!! thing is, I know she can jump on the bed easily !!!

I'm sure it's simply a ploy to get the maximum amount of bed waiting

I get the sighs too if we are not immediately playing with her after dinner. Unlike us she doesn't care about bloat!

We get the most pathetic noises when she is doing something she doesn't like ie waiting for food!

We were at training class recently and the other Staffy x was being made to sit when he wanted to walk and meet some other dogs. The sounds he made were terrible, if you just heard the sounds and didn't see him you would have thought he was the most abused dog in the world!

Misty has even stamped her feet before when we have asked her to wait for a bit before we can play again. It's like having a stroppy teenager sometimes Laughing

When she wants either hubbys or my seat on the sofa she goes to the other person and whines until the other one moves!

Sounds like I'm getting away pretty lightly with just some gulps then! Laughing
