Renovating
We are midway through a major renovation & poor Koda isnt coping very well. As soon as the carpenter (noisiest!) arrives Koda begins shaking uncontrollably & looks terrified. We know theres been no incident as such as one of us is constantly home, I'm sure its just the noise which is odd in its self as Koda isnt scared of fireworks or tropical thunder storms at all (& we have plenty of both). The carpenter is fantastic with him, shares his lunch lol & lots of pats & playing and Koda is fine but the second he bangs a nail or uses a power tool the shaking begins. We are making sure he (Koda not the carpenter! lol) is getting tonnes of extra attention, play sessions, extra walks etc. When no tradies are there he is fine! Just wondered if anyone has any tips, maybe experienced this? Help! (thx in advance)

Re: Renovating
Yes Bek I have experienced the same with one of my old dogs Kizzy, every time I had to use a staple gun she would shake like a leaf.We tried all ways to get around it but could never get her used to the sound. We think she may got the fear of this sort of sound when one day my neighbour's son chose to play around with an air gun.
All you can do is comfort him and tell him the sound wont hurt him.Funny how certain sounds can freak them out.

Re: Renovating
Can you take him out to the yard for boomer ball time when you know there's going to be a noisy period Bek, at least he could have some fun and associate it with boomer time

Funny you say that, just started that this week as his boomer ball is his lifeline he LOVES LOVES LOVES it, so when we know Jimbeau is going to be banging around he's getting extra b/ball time. Thank you

Re: Renovating
Hopefully Koda will see noisy times as good times with the boomer ball and he won't get as stressed
