Hey there, I’m Sykes! I’m the new kid on this Senior Staffy block.

To be honest, I’ve no idea why they call me a senior as I’m still full of life and raring to go!

I like to play all meek and mild at my kennel door when someone comes to visit me, but as soon as they open the door, whoosh! I’m off! Nothing’s gonna hold me back! I just love going out for a walk, so I’m always in a hurry to get going.

I am having training to make me walk nicely on my lead. Its been such a long time since I had walks I just get a little bit excited but I soon calm down.

I’m 10 years old and I was in a pound somewhere – that’s not a good place to be, I can tell you. I got lost from my previous owners but I guess they didn’t really care about me as they didn’t bother to come and get me – they knew where I was as well. That really hurt.

Now I’m quite enjoying life in the kennels while I wait for the next stage in my life, which I hope will be happier.

I don’t mind the other dogs in the kennels too much, but I’m not sure I want to share my home with another dog. Well, I guess I could always see, if it was a nice doggy who I got on well with. I don’t like cats though, so I definitely don’t want to live with one of those thank you very much!

One of my new friends thinks I’m funny because my ears don’t match! Well they are both my ears, you know, but one tends to stand up, and the other is a bit more lazy and tends to lie down. But I’m sure you won’t mind much about my ears. I am learning to like this fuss business, it’s all a bit new to me, but I tend to go all gooey and melt down to the floor if you scratch the side of my neck.

I’m good at jumping up to grab a kiss! Well it’s all so exciting isn’t it? If you want to get me all excited, all you have to do is fill in an adoption form and then come and meet me!

Sykes is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is in kennels in the Telford area but can be re-homed anywhere in the UK, pending a successful home visit. However any adopter should be willing to travel to meet him where he is now.

There is an adoption donation of £90 for Sykes and all money donated
goes directly to helping all the Senior Staffies in our care.
