Re: Ha Ha 2
it is a pitbull, apparently - i think the original video was posted by a pitbull rescue. anyway, AmStaffs are the registered version of a pitbull & are basicallyvthe same breed, some AmStaffs are actually dual registered with both the AKC (as AmStaff) & the American Pitbull Registry (as Pitbull).

Re: Ha Ha 2
Well all i will say is a friend of mine has an AmStaff which is a bigger version of our Staffy and I've seen what an owner called a Pit Bull in Queens New York and I can tell you... I saw a difference !

Re: Ha Ha 2
The trouble is, pitbulls have a very loose 'standard' which can be interpreted by breeders in quite different ways whereas the AmStaff has a more rigid standard so that it can be shown in beauty contests!

Re: Ha Ha 2
My interpretation is that an AmStaff is really just a bigger version of our UK Staffy where as an American Pit Bull is leaner and has a slightly different head shape but I agree it's hard to really differ as they all originate from similar lines.
The info at this link describes the differences in more detail though:-

Re: Ha Ha 2
i agree that pitbulls & AmStaffs can look very different, but they originate from the same dogs.
basically, some owners wanted to show their pitbulls but the AKC wouldn't register them. so they coined the name American Staffordshire Terrier, started a breed club, drew up a 'standard' and eventually the AKC allowed their registration. As usual, though, with show dogs, the breed has changed a fair bit. although as i said, there are some dual registered dogs.
