Hi All!!
I am so pleased I found this awesome forum where we can brag about our beautiful Staffys to our hearts content!
I am from Tasmania, and have had dogs all my life, we showed and bred Pembroke Corgi's and also had Bearded Collies. I still own a corgi to this day.
But...my partner is a Staffy lover and fell in love with a 10y bitch 4 years ago who needed a new home. I was saying a definate NO as we already had 2 dogs. Not long after we went to where she was again and witnessed her being "disiplined" by being kicked. I turned to my partner and said "do you still want the dog?" of course her answer was "yes"! We took "Gypsy" home that night and had her for a wonderful 3 1/2 years until she passed away this January.
Somehow in that time she wormed her way into my heart, her gentle trusting loving nature was hard to resist, and when she went we were both heart broken, but I was devastated! I hadn't realised how much I adored her til she was gone, and took a piece of my heart with her.
This March I started "just looking" at what puppies or dogs were available locally and looked at some puppies, then we found a breeder who had one puppy left out of 7. She was the first pup to have a deposit put on her but the breeders were not happy with the situation she was being re-homed into and gave them back their deposit!
So we went to have a look and it was love at first sight! She is now 5 months old, terribly spoiled, sleeps IN the bed, and goes everywhere with me which has made her wonderfully well socialised and see's any other dog as a new friend! I now admit I have had my heart stolen by the breed and will only own a Staffy for the rest of my life!
All thanks to my beautiful "Gypsy" RIP beautiful girl. xo

Re: Hi All!!
Such a sad story about Gypsy, not sure how anyone can "kick" a dog
At least her last 3 and a half years were spent with a loving family, although it must have been terribly hard to lose her.
RIP Gypsy girl, run free at Rainbow Bridge.
Just saw your post and pics and see you've found the memorial area.
Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy it as much as we all do, BTW, I'm Lee and my girls are Kita 14yrs and Izzy 19 months.

Hi there, welcome to the forum.
Gypsy's story may have started off sad, but she ended up with a happy home to end her days, so you should be proud of yourselves!
