What is Rocky?

Hi All,

Hope everyone is well - not been around much as been very busy. Rocky is doing fantastically well - he's a proper little food thief and bin raider, but not much you can do! All the nipping and biting seems to have stopped and he's just a lovely little lad.

I've not had a Staffy before, and as Rocky was a rescue we're not 100% sure that he's not a cross. I think he is, as he's quite leggy (19 inches at the withers) and weighs about 13kg at 6 months old.

I'm just curious......what could he be crossed with?

He looks very similar to what Zeus did at that age. Whilst he was growing, Zeus went through a very leggy stage which made me question if he truly was a full Staff but sure enough, he grew into his Staffy body.

I think he's going to be a typical Staffy and fill out somewhat. They can look a little non staffyish whilst growing but he has that typical white chest and Staffy face and aren't those ears just fab

aww he looks a lot like my Dexter...he's around 18 inches tall too and looks very lanky (6 months old) but Ive had staffs before and I think he is just going to be a taller version of my last two.

They dont stop growing until theyre around a year old, and then they fill out, just enjoy him, he's a super looking dog.

And continue to fill out if you give em half a chance

We are enjoying him greatly - awesome little fella and love him to bits.

There is just something about a Staffy that is totally unique, maybe it's the affection they give or the funny, crazy things they do but onc you've had a Staffy nothing quiet compares

Vinnie also went through a strange gangly stage I wondered what I had They do grow and fill out though

Mine actually looks way less staffyish now he's 2. When he was a pup people just thought he was older than he was because he was so big.

Might be a bit of mastiff in one of his grandparents? It's fun guessing, but you can never tell for sure.
