I agree with the article as people do use little fluffies as handbag dogs and I hate it. However, the dm just have to bring Staffordshires into it. I hate the line about aggressive looking staffs and the one where they mention Chihuahuas are cuter then staffs. Hmmm I completely disagree I've never seen one that looks anywhere near cute!

as a breed chuiahahas have to be the ugliest nastiest breed ive came across theres one across the road from me that attempted to snap at mia mia had a sniff put her head up and trotted off like a snob was so funny as a rule people should be educated how to train small dogs as the majority think they are wee and cute . I think by far small dog owners think they are above everyone and their dogs dnt need to be trained Laughing soz for the rant it isnt the dogs fault its defo the owners as for carrying the dog in the handbag well......

Small dogs are si annoying. We have a few around here that never shut up barking or out walking and trying to attack Dexter what do they call it big dog syndrome. The other day I had to leave a roar at the 2 next dog a jack Russell and a Chihuahua tearing the bits out of each other the jack Russell came out the worst and had to get stitches. Small dogs should be on the list. I would never trust one of them.

Aww come on! You can't complain about people stereotyping SBTs and then turn around and do the same against chiuauas. It's 99% on the owners how they behave.

I was told by a friend who lived there that in L.A the shelters and streets are absolutely filled with abandoned handbag dogs people haven't bothered to train or socialise.

Ok I know what you mean but you don't see many small dogs with a great temperament.Everything done for them. My friend has a handbag dog and when it goes to the toilet she uses a baby wipe to clean under its tail. They should let them be a dog and stop pampering them the way that they do they're not toys. You can still get great enjoyment in training them and be so proud that you learned them to be a great socialable dog

Totally agree.

I've worked with dogs for a long time, and I see many well socialised, wonderful toy breed dogs. But its all in how theyre raised.

Ok so I think its true, some owners let their small dogs get away with behaviours that would be unacceptable in larger breeds - like reacting aggressively towards other dogs. but thats not the dogs fault - think how scary the world must be for the littler ones. I don't beleive any breed is cuter or better than the next, but i do believe some dogs get away with unsocial/undesirable behaviours more than others

The Staffie comments are so lame, but I definitely agree with Goblin! I love little dogs, so does Bug! Some of the biggest characters are in little dogs and if you train/socialise them as you would any other dogs they can be great pets - just like Staffies Wink
