She did it again!!
We decided to head up to Chatsworth House in Derbyshire today. Miserable weather, mid-week = bound to be quiet. And it was but there was a few dogs around but nice and spaced out and in wide open fields so i could see all around. Tex was muzzled as usual.
I put her back onto her lead as we approached a group of two collies and a Weimararner. But Tex was wagging her tail in a relaxed fashion at them, and we weren't very far away. She was looking towards them and then bouncing as if she wanted to play. So i called over to the owners of the group, and I explained the situation. About why she wears a muzzle, and that sometimes she can react badly, but she IS learning and she IS doing better, so i asked if they would mind if I let her off the lead since she's giving off positive vibes. I made it clear i would ofcourse look out for any negativity and immediately retreive her. They were lovely people and agreed wholeheartedly
Tex had a great time running around with them, and then a big old labradoodle joined us too but Tex accidentally encouraged her into zoomies so poor doodle had to be taken away. It was lovely to see.
On the way back she was off lead again, and a group of three labradors were approaching us. me and my partner were debating whether to put her back on again or not when the decision was taken out of our hands by one of the dogs bounding over to us! I gave Tex a "who's that then!!" (which is what i say when we see her friends) so she went bouncing over to him and took to him immediately.
The owners of these dogs were praising me and my attempts and saying that they thought it was brilliant idea to muzzle her but try and trust her off lead. Which was nice to hear because i often get the opposite view. She said that Tex was clearly doing very well!
I'm so proud of her I could cry! She did amazingly!
I got a picture but only one because i was trying to keep a super close eye on her

Wow that sounds wonderful Em. You should be very proud of Tex but also of yourself. There is nothing nicer then seeing dogs meet and have a great time together.
Well done, so happy for you!
