Tex's Gotcha Day {Pics}
So today marks the one year anniversary of Texas coming home. We've had basically a three day celebration. Starting with a trip to Whitby. I was hoping it would be quiet as the weather was forecast awful, but it was bright when we got there and more dogs than I wanted. But nonetheless we were determined to have a good day, and we did! We managed to stake out a corner of the beach and me and my OH, Stefano, were on high alert to make sure no one got too close so that Tex could be Off Lead- Off Muzzle
Then a short walk through the town to get to the 199 steps upto the abbey. Not a single dog received a shout from our Tex until we were on our way back down the steps. We had some chips as well (even if we did have to sit with the lobster crates to keep well out of the way so Tex didnt get stressed by passing pooches *sigh* the things i do for her!) and Tex even got a sneaky bit of chip dipped in gravy!
Then it was a nice walk yesterday and today just around the local areas because she still seemed pretty tired after the Whitby trip. She's had a special dinner today which included some raw lamb shank. Spoiled she is!!
This was Tex the day I got her
and on our first walk, you can see how little and nervous she was!
and this is her now!!
She can make friends when she feels safe
and she just loves life!
Don't get me wrong, as most of you know, Tex is hard work. Her fear aggression and her anxiety can be so difficult to handle at times.
But as I write this last paragraph I have just returned from the vets after my rabbit, Chaplin, has sadly passed away early and unexpectedly. I am devastated, its a sad day but Tex is looking after me - for all the hard work that she is I would never give her up for anything, she's a part of my soul and iin return I know shes always going to be there for me too

Happy gotcha, Tex!
Very sad to hear about Chaplin, but I'm glad you still managed to have a good day.

What a fab post Em
What a difference there is in Tex, you've all come a long way and by the looks of it, had a great few days for Tex's gotcha day.
Sorry to read about Chaplin, I'm sure Tex will be giving you some extra special Staffy cuddles
