Captain Skipper, 10 yrs, red coat, male, Worcester area
SKIPPER
Age: 10yrs
Temperament: I am slightly nervous of new things (and everything is a bit new at the moment!) but I settle quickly and give lovely cuddles!
Dogs: I lived with a male Chihuahua, but I can be selective, so would need a few meetings!
Cats: No thank you
Children: I lived with children before, but as I am a bit nervous, older children please
My name is Skipper and I'm ten years young.
I am a beautiful red colour with a very cute face and a perfect little staffie shape body.
Kennels was quite a big shock for me after being in a home and living with my furbrother all my life.
I was a bit lost and nervous at first. Then I got really poorly and my friends at SSC thought they were going to lose me at one point. But they never stopped fighting for me and lots of kind strangers sent pennies for my vet bills too.
Even though I've had to have my eye removed due an old trauma to my poor head. I am healing well and have no known lasting illness. They say I am a very brave solider and I like to agree with them really.
I am a bit fussy with other dog friends. If they are nice to me I like them but if they bark at me I will tell them off back. That's fair enough isn't it? I used to live with a little Chihuahua brother so I probably can live with another dog again but I would need to meet them a few times first to make sure we get along.
I did live happily he children in my old home. However I am a bit nervous of new people and give them a few little grumpy growls just until I feel safe (which doesn't take long) so I think I'd prefer a home with older children; say, over 12. But give me key worker lady Sonia a call if you have any more questions on children.
I also don't mind being left for a while if you need to go to work or the shops I will wait patiently for you.
I am a bit grumpy at the vets but my friends say it's not surprising with all I have been through at the moment with my prostrate and my eye. However the vet lady said I wasn't too bad considering I was in such a lot of pain and pressure too.
I didn't get many walks before I came to SSC but now I get out every day so i am building up my little muscles nicely. I walk well on my lead and don't pull.
My walkers say I always look a bit sad and it makes them upset. I don't mind too much though as it makes them cuddle me up more.
Anyway, I hope to meet you soon!
Who knows, you may fall in love with my cute sad face too. I have perfected my look and my friends say I still look very handsome.
I hope you think so too.
Love and woofs,
Skipper
