Low Flying Staffie
Is it just Katy or do your staffies play chase games, running at full speed with their heads screwed round watching the chaser? Out with our friends Wednesday & mummy Lynn we had a lovely walk but on our way back, met up with Marvin (cockerpoo/ Mental) & his mummy & daddy. They were playing chukkit which Katy cant resist!!! Anyway we chatted while they played, unfortunately when Katy is being chased she will run at full speed with her head screwed round to see if they are catching up! I know to watch out for her as she's had me over many times, however Lynn wasn't & Katy slammed into the side of her knee She limped all the way home & now her knee is swollen, sooo embarrassed & have been texting Lynn to make sure she's ok. She says she is & not to worry, I hope she is!!!! I've had many wicked bruises from Katy's body slams

Re: Low Flying Staffie
He's done that a few times, I used to have to yell 'incoming!' at the top of my voice a lot on walks. Once him and lola were doing the chase you described and both smacked into the woman and she landed flat on her back. That's roundabout 45kg of dogs so she got the wind knocked out of her. No injuries luckily.
Gizmo's latest trick is to get a bigger dog to chase him towards someone with an extendable lead so the bigger dog gets clotheslined.
He also runs up behind people (almost always my dad) at great speed and then clips them running past. Mortifying.
Why, when we're out in the middle of a wide open space, must they insist on running right into us?

Re: Low Flying Staffie
I can not understand why they have to chase round so close to us in a big field either!!!!
Unfortunately Lynn was unable to go to work today as she couldn't move her knee Feeling dead guilty now even though she doesn't blame Katy

Aw, Jen it's not really anyone's fault, dogs do crash into people by mistake a lot.

Yes the amount of times I have to jump out of the way when misty is playing chase with a friend. Although she is so quick a lot of dogs can't keep up so when she sees that she will slow her pace down to keep them interested.
Her and her sprockett friend are lethal together, neither looks where they are going!

Re: Low Flying Staffie
Yeah, it's not Una it's the bigger dogs she plays chase with. They run faster than her so tend to race around like Katy does with their heads twisted round to keep tabs on little miss trouble.
At the end of Jan she was having a lovely play with a new spaniel friend, I stupidly turned my back and the next thing I knew I was flat on my back looking at the stars. Una had chased the spaniel into the back of my leg, flip did my ankle hurt, my poor OH had to do all the dog walking that weekend while I hobbled about

Re: Low Flying Staffie
I saw Lynn & her oh hobbling back down our lane this afternoon, she had made it to the top of our lane & oh run Wednesday round the field. Serious guilt trip!!! I took her round a bottle of wine from Katy to apologise It will work better than pain killers

Re: Low Flying Staffie
true, I'd thought Una may have paused when I hit the floor but no, the spaniel was far more interesting than silly Ange lying rolling on the floor squeaking "ow, ow"
