So Mackey is doing great!!! 7 months old and 30 pounds!!! however, the last week or so, he kinda stopped laying on the couch with us at night while watching tv and prefers to lay on the floor. is this normal? makes me think he is sad or something. he will come and jump up for a few then just go down on his own and lay on the floor. thoughts?????

I think they go through phases Mike. My Flo will snuggle up all week and then for no reason decide that she wants her own bed for a change. It only lasts a day or two and then she's back laying as tight to me as possible. I simply put it down to her wanting some space or being too warm.

They get to a certain age & decide they need their space occasionally. With Katy she can be laying on our bed & I go in to do my ironing thinking I can keep her company, so she gets up & goes in the other room to lay on the sofa Surprised Makes it all the more special when they come for a snuggle Love Struck Love Struck

Millie lost her cuddliness around that age too. She'll still have a cuddle in bed but generally prefers to lie on her own (if she does actually stay still for a nano second, that is!). As Jen says, when you do get a daytime cuddle it makes it more special.

Misty sometimes takes herself off to our bed at night if she's tired of waiting for us to go to bed with her I think it's a nice sign of confidence and she feels secure to go off by herself as when we first got her she would never have done that.
