Love my Bertie but not 3am wake up calls

Hello All

I have had Bertie Wooster for just under 4 weeks now and he seems to have got into a routine of waking me up at 3am every morning for the toilet (or just a cuddle) despite going out before bedtime. I feel heart broken just laying there and ignoring him so will admit every morning I get up and either send him outside (if he will go outside) or send him back to his bed.

Is this the right thing to do or should I be ignoring him?

hiya shelley to be honest if you want this routine for the next 12+ years then carry on regardless. sounds like he is still settling in though and looking for reassurance particularly if he was a rescue dog. if you feel its the best course of action just ignore him. id give him a few months to settle in
