pyometra Empty pyometra

Post by elfranco Wed Feb 17 2016, 09:22

yesterday sasha was rushed into surgery suffering with pyometra. She came back last night with pain killers and antibiotics. I have managed to get the first dose of antibiotics in. However she refusing to eat so can have pain killer been told she cant have it unless she eaten. I have tried her with a little bit of boiled chicken which I know she likes she refused any other ideas of light food I could try tempt her with.

I take it she's been spayed?

have you tried putting the tablets in some cream cheese & then hand feeding her just a little food? it doesn't need to be too much to start with - her appetite should pick up again soon.

I agree with Gilly, cheese is always a favourite and once she's had that she'll probably start to feel hungry enough to eat.

How's Sasha doing today ?

anything, really, just to tempt her appetite - doesn't matter if it isn't 'good' for her at the moment!
