annoying blister type thing.
Hi guys and girls.
My darling staffie has decided to get what looks like a blister on his paw, I called the vets and they said it maybe a tick, he never had this problem when I walked him on the road, and it's only shown up since I walked him over in the local woods (haven't now for the last 2 weeks) I've tried putting tea tree cream on, but there doesn't appear to be any entrance wounds just this. Any ideas what this could be?

Hi Jenc and Katy. It's not letting me post a picture as it says I have to be a member for a week.

Sorry I forgot that Photobucket has brought this 7 day thing in!!!! I cant imagine that a tick would either be active this time of year or even attach themselves to the foot of a dog Any signs of infection on Katy I use Savlon, might not be right but always sorts out any problems she has

Re: annoying blister type thing.
A friend of mine has said she took one of her clients dogs to the vet as he had the same thing, and it turns out it was a foreign body in it like grass, I had another look and there is a very very small cut underneath on the pad, I posted the picture on my FB page if it's any help?
Btw, I can't get over how much your little lady looks like mine minus the spots haha

Hi ya Allie, welcome to the forum
It's hard to tell what could cause this without actually seeing it. Might be worth a trip to the vets if it doesn't start to get better soon though.

Hi guys. Sorry for the lateness in posting, but here is what his foot is like, obviously not as red and puffy now in the link below the first.

Re: annoying blister type thing.
It looks like he's had some sort of irritation and has licked it. They can remove a surprising amount of hair very quickly by just licking. If the 2nd shot is the more recent and the swelling is going down, I would leave it unless either it gets worse or unless he licks it again. If it continues to be swollen, you are probably best going to the vet to get a course of antibiotics and advice as to whether they need to do anything else.

Hi LizP, the other shot is during the course of the antibiotics, metacam and hippyscrub he's on, I'm hoping it goes down as they said they were have to operate and do something called a stent.

Re: annoying blister type thing.
Lexi gets these from time to time, usually when shes walked about in the fields and picked a spike up. It usually sorts itself out. I just make sure to keep it clean and if she looks in pain, give metacam.

Re: annoying blister type thing.
It certainly looks better in the second picture, let's hope the current treatment sorts it
