Ian, have you been watching the darts?
As usual I'm well behind, only now just watching last Sunday's evening session. I am in the middle of the King Oreshkin match. Wow what a game!! Still shocked by the Huybrechts result!

Just had a look and there are still tickets available to the Lakeside next week. I'm debating going down for a few evening sessions. It was my first ever visit to the darts, I was always shocked how smaller it is in reality as to what it looks like on tv. Havent been for a few years as it got a bit too rowdy down there. People were not even watching the darts and it just didn't have the atmosphere but watching it last year it seemed to be back to the darts again. Can't believe it has tickets left, normally they are sold out months before.

I've only caught a few evening matches Emma, but m slacking this year Rolling Eyes

I've never been to lakeside but I have a few friends that have been several times and they love it. I would love to go but I'm not sure if I have the time this week, mind you, might be worth asking some of the lads if they fancy it.

Ian I expected better from you, normally it's me who hasn't seen the matches! There have been some cracking games so far. I can't believe there are tickets left for Lakeside, I got sent my order link for the tickets in July I think it was. Maybe they are having trouble selling them this year. I've looked at the order of play and I might head down the Tuesday night as I'd like to watch Hanky again (obviously that's only if he wins his first match). Gutted John Boy is playing when I'm back at work. Hopefully it will be him and Ted in the final (I can dream)

Wow, Ian please tell me you have seen some of the matches recently. There have been classics, the Barney van Gerwin one and the Taylor Klassen one were unbelievable. Plus the Chizzy Wright one was fab too. Can't believe the games this year, absolutely cracking! If you have sky you can watch them on Download in case you missed them.

I saw the Chizzy/Wright match... That's gotta be a classic. I heard about the MVG-Barney match, he was so emotional after winning bless him. I missed the end of the Taylor match last nite, who won ?

Jelle won it. Unbelievable, he was fantastic, Taylor started doing his pauses and slowing the game down
Taylor pulled it to three sets two legs to nothing but somehow Klassen pulled it back and beat him. Was one of my favorite matches I've seen for a long long time!

The Barney match was wonderful. Shows what a great sportsman Mvg is, he gave such a respectful interview when he lost even though he was really hurt to be out.

Funny you should say that, one of the guys down the club has always disliked MVG with a passion but after watching the match and the interview he now likes him Rolling Eyes

I'm surprised Jelle won, would have thought that Phils experience would have seen him through

Yes I've always liked mvg as I like the way he plays the game. No slowing thing down etc just plays his own game. You could tell the interview was so hard for him but he was really composed and did the sport proud. No whinging or moaning about losing.

Yes I admit when Phil went ahead I thought that was it but he kept calm and he just didn't let Taylor walk all over him. He kept composed and really held it together well. I remember when he won Lakeside, I've never seen someone play darts so well.honestly that year I really think even Taylor at his best couldn't of stopped Jelle then. I would love to see him back to his best. Really hoping that it's him and rvb in the final. Im not sure how Barney feels about him now after what happened with him a few years ago but would be a fantastic final!

I kinda want to see Wright in the final but not sure he has the composure to see it through.

MVG plays with total conviction which is why he's fast. When you have that mind set your hard to beat whereas Phil playing games shows that he hasn't got 100% belief these days.

Wish I had the belief in my own darts but alas I seem to come second far too often these days Laughing

Yes totally agree about Phil. In his post match interview he actually said his head wasnt right. I think it affects him so much that no one is scared of him anymore. A few years ago when Phil went ahead in a match no one ever came back at him. Now the players know they can come back against him and it rattles him. Jelle did it the other night when the game was nearly over somehow he came back to win it.

You have to believe in yourself, just think this time next year you could be playing at the world's.

Wow have you seen the Norris Klassen match?! Unbelievable.

See it's not just the taking part the matters Laughing

I didn't bother watching the final,I watched the semis and really wanted it to have at least on Dutch player in it. Thought Anderson would win as he just destroyed Jelle in their match.

I watched the bdo earlier. Love Hankey so much with all his growling and posturing. I used to hate him with a passion but now it's completely the opposite. Trying to get my friend to agree to come to Frimley tomorrow night as there are tickets left and Super Ted is playing again. I originally thought he was due on Tuesday night but it's tomorrow. Hoping my friend says yes as I'd love to watch him again.
