Dogs catching each other's tails!
Has any one else had this problem? My dog was out with the dog walker today and my staffy and her staffy were chasing each other in circles; they caught hold of each others tales and kept hold, running off like crabs when she tried to get close. As soon as she shook the treats bag, they let go and sat like butter wouldn't melt....
Tyler's tail is definitely painful, but he is able to sit on it. He's just a bit subdued and sorry for himself.

Re: Dogs catching each other's tails!
I've moved this to 'training and behaviour' for you, it'll be seen more here.
Was this a one off? If so, I'd not worry to much about it. I'd say your dog walker's response was good, distract them and give them something positive to do.

What liz said. But now she knows they do this she must pre-empt them and not let them even get to the point they make contact. Its a delicate area.

It's been quite painful for a couple of days but thankfully seems to be settling down. I'm not worried about it, but I've never seen it happen before, I just wonered if anyone else had
