My new wee arrival, Bella
My names Laura and in my profile picture you can see my wee Staffy, Bella who only joined us last night. Wee Bella was dumped in a cardboard box at the side of a busy road with her 6 brothers and sisters and a concerned member of the public discovered them. The rehoming centre reckon she is about 12 week. She is vey tiny and unsteady on her feet, but we will love her and bring her to full health. Any tips welcomed. Thank you

Re: My new wee arrival, Bella
Hi ya Laura, Welcome to the Forum from Flo & me
What a sad start to life for Bella & her siblings but It sounds like she's fallen on all 4 Paws with you giving her a loving home.
You're in the right place for advice so do call out any questions you have, as they say, the only daft question is the one you didn't ask

Welcome from Misty and me. Fantastic news on the rescue, it breaks my heart how humans can be so cruel. Thankfully beautiful Bella is in a loving home now.

My new wee arrival, Bella. Vets visit
So wee Bella's just back from her first visit to the vets. It turns out that she is only 8 weeks old and not 12 weeks as we were informed by the re-homing centre. Such a wee pet, just want to do my best for her if anyone has any tips for a pup this young

She is a gorgeous little thing. The best tip I can give you is to socialise Bella as much as possible in her early months (as long as she's had all her shots etc).
Recall training is as important but will obviously take a little time. It might be worth investing in a long lead now so that your ready.

Re: My new wee arrival, Bella
Hiya from me and Maya As Ian say`s socialization is a really important part of bringing up a puppy. I got Maya at 8 1/2 weeks old, and i used to carry her everywhere with me until she had had her jabs.
It will be the best way to go, as you will get people wanting to look and stroke her etc, and this will get Bella used to strangers at a very early age.
From there on, as soon as she is able to walk on a lead, you will be able to start gently introducing her to other dogs, and get Bella fully socialized.
Good luck, and all the very best to you both !

Re: My new wee arrival, Bella
Puppy proof your home much as possible socialise her with dogs and introduce her to as much things as possible kids and different animals amd different traffic im sure she will be a well balanced dog keep training sessions of what you would like her to learn to 10 minutes otherwise she will get bored . Ive fell in love with her too as im a sucker for a staffy pup. She will need to chew id recommend nylabones and frozen vegetables and a frozen teatowel

Awww... bless her, and you for taking her in. As you can already see, you're in the right place for puppy advice. Any questions, ask away!
And more photos over the coming weeks, please!
