Re: fatten up 2 staffs
There is probably better that you could be feeding which is more nutritious. There's a thread somewhere on here, I'll try and find it and post it for you later.

Here's an external site that should give you some pointers to start with. There is more info about somewhere which I will continue to look for.

Re: fatten up 2 staffs
The higher the meat content the better as they will get more nutrition from it . The best diet id say is the raw diet many of our forum users feed raw and found it beneficial for their dogs

They just need more food. Add some high calorie treats, such as sausage etc. Not very healthy, but will put weight on them.

Raw tripe is wonderful for weight gain - but it stinks! Purina isn't a great food - not surprised they don't look good on it! I feed nature diet, which is also good for weight gain. It'll cost more, but you'll feed less.

Hey guys and girl's thanks for all of your advice and we're now feeding evolution as recommended by a vet queenie has put abit of weight on but breezer is still a skinny bugger even though she has that little bit more so I really don't know what to do.

As already said, tripe is good for putting on weight. It's also very nutritious.
Don't cook it though. It stinks. Doesn't smell half as bad raw.

Re: fatten up 2 staffs
I've had a look at evolution.. It's got good ratings but it is mostly made up of "meal" rather than proper meat, which is an ingredient I would be looking to avoid. Personally, I don't feed dry food, so I'd always lean towards raw feeding or one of the natural trays of wet food. Wainwrights trays at P@H are pretty good, and as mentioned, I've found nature diet to be brilliant for weight and condition.
I understand why you would want to take your vets advice nutritionally, but they generally aren't very well trained in nutrition, and don't endorse diets that veer away from the standard dry kibble, whilst others have had brilliant results feeding alternative diets.
