Do they know when you are ill?

Yesterday I had a operation to remove some metal work from my ankle.

I have been at home recovering from the anaesthetic today and Betty has not left my side.

She has been calm and gentle, virtually no biting and has not even attempted to go for my ankles (a favourite past time which we are working hard to ignore)

So, does she know I'm under the weather? For a 12 week old pup I am amazed at her behaviour today!

Yes! I had a separation in the family recently and have been very upset. Marley sits next to me and whines if he hears me crying he then jumps on my lap and gives me lots of kisses and cutches like he's trying to make me feel better bless them, honestly believe they can feel out emotions hope you get well soon

Yup I firmly believe they know when your upset or unwell. With being upset I think they just pick up on the mood but when unwell I am totally convinced that they know, they are even training dogs to indicate on certain diseases these days

mines doesn't, helped an old woman we know who had fell and hurt her leg and Iza wanted to jump all over her on the ground.

They pick up on the energy. Just like when you shout at them they look "guilty" they are reacting to your vibe.

Yup - she's a changed dog since my operation. The ankle nipping has stopped completely, which is good because I currently have a six inch, very tender scar there!

there's lot of research to back this up and i've seen several videos online about this subject..After all, they train dogs to help people with diabetes, epilepsy and other conditions, plus dogs can sense immune deficiencies apparently.

Absolutely Vin picks up on step daughter she has had a cough for ages and he doesnt bother when anyone else coughs its just hers, so yes I think they know. Hope you feel better soon

withought a shadow of doubt, dogs have an uncanny knack of knowing feelings and you know what we do too. I rely on them while working and as much as they know us we know them

I watched a program the other day where they showed a dog who had been trained to sniff out prostate cancer cells in urine samples. Amazing!

As someone who suffers with severe depression, yes. Nita knows when I am having a bad day and doesn't leave my side.
