Pics of my dogs
Thought I'd post pics of my pups, as I love sharing photos
Zoey is our (almost) 3 year old Staffy. We rescued her when she was about 10 weeks old. At the time we baked dog treats for a kennels, and the kennel owner gave our details to a woman whose neighbour had recently bought a Staffy pup (Zoey). The neighbour was apparently planning to breed her with his other dog, but they didn't get on and so for the past two weeks Zoey had been banished to the garden. When we picked her up she was small and sickly looking, and had worms...but oh my was she adorable!
So tiny!
Despite her rough start she was a really happy puppy, and she loved people. She grew into a wonderful dog; everyone is her long lost friend and she's a joy to train. She loves the sun, total sundog <3
[
And yesterday we had a health scare, but as soon as we got outside she perked up and she was SO good at the vets...didn't mind getting injections, happy to be weighed, didn't wriggle too much having her temp taken. The hardest part was the vet checking her eyes / gums as Zoey just wanted to kiss her!! Here she is as soon as we got back home
FB 15-04-16
Then we have Kasper, who was our first dog and is now 5 years old. We adopted him when he was 9 months old and he is our problem child haha. Over the years we have overcome quite a few issues with Kasper including lack of basic training, separation anxiety, resource guarding and extreme fear of people. He's done good, and is a total goofball
We 'fixed' Kasper's separation anxiety by crate training him (did it very slowly over the course of a month) and now he sees that as his safe place...this is his "hey I'm in my crate, I get a treat right?" face:
Kasper loves to play, is very food motivated and walks are his favourite thing. He can be grumpy, he's difficult and he still gets overly excited and anxious...but he is a different dog to the one we brought home, and he is happy.
Finally we have Raiden. Rey is a 10 week old Border Terrier puppy that we got from a breeder. We picked him up at 8 weeks old and he will be 11 weeks tomorrow. He's a little livewire and loves to throw puppy tantrums when he doesn't get his own way.
He is doing well with his training though; he's only had a few accidents indoors and he knows sit, lie down, his name, touch / target and 'in' to go in his crate. He's still exhausting and can be obnoxious in a way only puppies can be though
Introductions with the dogs are happening slowly and positively. Kasper told the puppy off a few times for being too boisterous in the first week, so now Raiden is timid (but calmer) around Kasper...Kasper tries to initiate play but the puppy is a little too nervy to play back. Zoey hasn't corrected the puppy once, which means Rey is very excited and bitey with her, and in turn Zoey gets too hyped up and rough. We've done lots of work on getting her to be calm around the puppy and we've made good progress. She can recall when playing with him and focus on me when Raiden walks about. We did have to take a day off yesterday due to Zoey being ill, but this was a few days ago...
Thanks for looking, and sorry for bombarding you with photos

Thank you Yes, they sure like to keep us on our toes! We really lucked out with Zoey because she has such a sweet disposition...she wasn't planned at all, and we were only supposed to foster her, but she slotted right in. She's just wonderful. I can't wait to see how Raiden is as he grows

Re: Pics of my dogs
Thank you JStaff!
Haha thanks Stella She was a tiny little mite, grew rapidly until 6 months old and then didn't grow or fill out for over a year...she was really skinny when she was younger, a few years back. She's at her best weight yet currently (slim but healthy) and weighs 15kg, previously she weighed 11kg! I'd love to share some photos - do I just go and post the photos in any of the threads they apply to?
Thank you b_phippsy
Good to know you like dog photos as I have a tendency to post quite a lot
Here's Zoey in the dogs' princess tent ( ), although it's not up at the moment as we had to take it down to make room for the puppy's pen...they really enjoyed it whilst it was up though!
First time Zoey wore Kasper's Ruffwear harness - we liked it so much she kept the blue one and Kasper got an orange one
Zoey on a late night walk in her old harness
Paddling (still hates rain though!)
My block headed dog <3

Re: Pics of my dogs
Thanks! (have I mentioned I really like this forum?! )
Back to baby Zoey...when she was younger we thought she might have a significant bit of English Bull Terrier in her:
Little bit older here, maybe 4 months?
She was the cutest baby ever!
Oh oh, and this is the day she rolled in cow poo, flopped on a dead rodent and tumbled down a hill, then waded through a bog and scratched her head (this was also her 'skinny stage')
Stupidly cute

Re: Pics of my dogs
Thanks markrobo, JenC, Sarah n Ozzy and emmahammond25
stella, Kasper loves to EAT the poo (ew...) whereas Zoey very rarely eats it but *loves* to roll in it, which is...lovely! She also adores rolling on dead things, with dead frogs being her favourite...she's not exactly a girly girl
b_phippsy thank you Whenever it's even slightly cool she just has to snuggle under duvets / blankets / dressing gowns. It's been about 17*C here today and our house is really (too) warm, yet Zoey is back to snuggling under the duvet in the morning

Re: Pics of my dogs
They're all gorgeous, but Zoey is very very very gorgeous. And of course she's under the duvet! Where else would a self respecting staffie be in such freezing conditions? 17 degrees, I ask you!

Wow what a great family you have but I have to say... Zoey is a little darling
Amazing how you think you'll just foster for a while and then forget to give them back
It might have been said before but we love pics here so post as many as you like

Re: Pics of my dogs
Haha thanks Liz! I don't understand it - I'm pressed against the wall / radiator trying to soak up the cold and Zoey is under the covers like 'aaah, bliss!'
Thank you Ian, she is a little love We didn't even know we were fostering Zoey until the day we were told about her!! Literally went to this guy's house, picked up this little puppy, and brought her home wrapped in a blanket on the train! Knew within five days she was staying
Here is Zoey's serious face
I really like this photo of her
Smiley girl
And she discovered a good smell!
Kasper enjoying a late night wander when it's blessedly cool out
And Raiden turned 11 weeks old yesterday, yay

Re: Pics of my dogs
Thanks everyone Raiden is certainly a handful...thankfully he can go on walks now so he's having a lovely time bounding about and trying desperately to keep up with Kasper! No walks with him and Zoey as she pulls like a steam train and doesn't do anything else but focus intensely on him *sigh*
I haven't done any calming / intro work between Raiden and Zoey since she was ill at the weekend, so I dread to think how hyper-focused she's gonna be when I start again. Might give her one more day off as Rey has a busy day planned today, what with a walk with Kasper and then a puppy party class this evening.
Pics from his first ever walk:
Recall was good (yay puppyhood!) and he was able to hold a sit despite the distractions
Kasper was being a doofus yesterday and initiating play with Zoey when it was supposed to be quiet time...like, c'mon guys you'va all had a walk just sleep! So I stuck him in Zoey's pen to chill. His expression was hilarious
Kasper's "please let me out I am being neglected" face
And Zoey wanted in!!
