Plans for your dog if u die first.

Have you made any yet? I never thought about it till a recent healthcare as I have no family and my close friends have dogs that are not very dog friendly. Besides I would want Iza to live in countryside as that's what she is used to.
So I called my local shelter and found out they ran a scheme where I could leave her details if I died suddenly and they would look after her and make sure she went somewhere suitable, they would also help with transition if I nominate someone like a wonderful admin on this forum who promised to look after her for me.
So just make sure someone knows your plans for your furbabies just in case something was to happen to you.

Never though about it before Colin its good that they offer this scheme though. Harley would probably stay with my partner or go with my mum as she spoils him so much and I know he would be fine with her.

Honestly, if both me and Martyn passed away I have no idea. I don't know of anybody that would take her, and if she went back to the rescue that I took her from she would be PTS (she was labelled as not safe to rehome). Something I do need to consider.

Awesome to plan ahead. Koda would go to his 'Uncle' Neil, he is besotted with him and would love to have him for us all. Not everyone is that lucky. Im glad there's resources out there xo

We have made provision for any animals we may have at the time in our wills, and Danaher has agreed to take any dogs if our family would not be able to. The chickens would be rehomed through the BHWT.

Before he went, we had actually said that we would prefer Bobbert to be PTS if anything ever happened to the both of us. Kennels would have been hell for him and, like you Rach, I don't know anyone who would have taken him on. Our feeling was that we'd been able to give him a lovely life with us and that was something he wouldn't otherwise have had, and for him to be thrown into something negative after that would have been crueler than PTS.

Although it's not something that we normally want to talk about, it's a really good idea to put a plan in place so that you will have peace of mind should something happen.

Flo would definitely stay in the family as she is so loved

reckon someone would take mia but dnt know who as her dislike to certain dogs may cause a problem. something worth thinking about

I'm lucky that my parents would have Misty as they adore her and if for some reason they couldn't then hubbys parents would, even though they have a German shepherd who doesn't like certain dogs I'm sure they would make something work as they know how much we love her.

My daughter has promised to take Milo in along with all my other animals bless her. She already has a Cockerpoo but they get on really well albeit noisy

Being single its something I have thought about. I have dogs trust third part liability insurance, 24/7 vet care via phone and if I die they will take my dogs in and re-home them together or keep them indefinatley. for 25 quid a year its a bargin
