Your favourite things!

A lot of the time on the forum, due to needing advice for the behaviours that we wish to lessen or eradicate, we only tend the hear the negative and not so much the positive.

So, I want to know why your favourite behaviours are that your dog(s) show(s).

Mine for Bug are;
1. I love how she carries her teddies around and puts them to bed.

2. Zoomies! And skidding on her side down the hills when her legs are going too fast

3. Getting as close as humanely possible and snuggling right in.

4. Literally throwing herself into any water source that we come across (despite being terrified of water until 2 years ago!)

5. Her tenacity - when she has a goal she's a lady on a mission, yet she CAN be the girliest, daintiest little miss when she feels like it.

I luv the zoomies I just sit back and laugh at her and she has that big stiffy smile, so it's like she's laughing with me! I also laugh at her when I hear her running in the garden with something in her mouth that she shouldn't have...she gives herself away by the way she scarpers!
My favourite part of the day is when the OH goes to work at 6am and she comes to bed for a snooze before I get up to walk her before work, she snuggles right in either under the duvet or into my neck and I can hear her little snores in my ear. I love her so much I just laugh at her all day long when I'm not cuddling her!

That should say staffy smile!! Lol

1- Marley does a belly crawl like a sniper but through the entire length of my living room he will not stop till he hits the tiles in my kitchen haha
2- when I go to greet him in the morning he always goes back into his crate grabs his fav teddy then come to say hello as if h s saying look what I got mam
3- he lov s me cradling him like a baby, puts both paws on my shoulders bum on my lap chin next to my face and doesn't move till I do lol
4- Marley gives me high five when I ask him

head butting the bathroom door open just to sit on my feet when i'm sat on the toilet
how friendly she is with everyone she meets especially kids
how she waits for me to tell her she's a good girl and give her a little hug before she will touch her food
when she wakes up after a horrible dream and comes to me for a cuddle
when she sees the heron on our lake,looks at me and waits for me to tell her to go and get it then comes tearing back for a reward sweetie for chasing away the nasty bird
the way she just goes straight upstairs back to bed after her morning walk
everything really
every day she gives me a new reason to smile and love her just a little bit more

How well Suki does with children and small animals

The fact that no matter how late I stay up she doesn't go to bed until I do

What a great Topic, sure to make me smile

Some of my fave things about Flo

1. Every morning without fail she will go outside to do what she must then leave her breakfast where it is to climb 2 flights of stairs to get just a 5 min cuddle with me on the bed

2. The way she will literally cuddle me till she's fast asleep right under the crook of my arm with her head on my chest

3. When in the woods, the way she will stop dead still looking for the squirrels and if you happen to move, will give you the filthiest look

4. How great she is with even the smallest kids. The way they stroke and prod her but she sits there and takes it all without flinching and will then stand up and kiss each one that she can.

5. The fact that I can take her into any pub and she will lay right down and not fret or pester just keep an eye out for anything going on & if I have to leave her to go to the bar or whatever she won't move but will watch me and then her rudder will thump loudly on my return.

6. The amount of conversations that I've had with complete strangers all because she's a Deaf Staffy

I could probably list loads more but I'm incredibly thankful that she chose us that day in Battersea

Oh so much that I love about my baby cakes!!

1. Love the snuggles at bed time especially when it's cooler and he snuggles his head in my neck.

2. Zoomies of course

3. The way he runs full pelt and slides across the grass

4. The wiggling at anybody

5. When we get home and he grumbles at us telling us all about his day!

6. When he shuffles and dances on the spot if I've got a biscuit for him and I'm taking too long to give it to him.

7. When he's not sure what trick I want him to do so he does the whole lot!

1. i love how she tilts her head side to side at everything little thing im saying even if im having a conversation with someone else lol shes sat there with her head going side to side as if shes listening

2. how clever she is and how quickly she learns

3. her temperament is fab with everything whether it be a child, another dog, a rabbit anything lol

4. shes my best bud

So much i love about my wee chicken leg.
1. She scratches her back on the carpet

2. She tilts her head to the side when i ask her something and she can spell biscuit.

3. Looks at the treat cupboard looks at me isnt very subtle and howls lol.

4. Nowadays she doesnt go to bed until i do despite me telling her she never done this till just recently

5. She gets attention from the older generation wherever she goes.

6. Brilliant with kids and ignores the yappy dogs

7. Can teach an old dog new tricks.

8. My oh taught mia find the kerb a command only the guide dog knows she done it bless her could i get her to do it cud i heck lol.

9. She can sniff out a treat from miles away

10. Her actions when its raining

11. I believe when mia was younger she would have behaved off lead but with other dogs was unpredictable i love the fact she accepts she has to be on lead constantly

13. How she poses for a photo

Love how when I lie on the sofa she sleeps on my chest shoulder area curled up.
Love how she is not aggressive with any animal she meets.
Love how adored she is in the village.
Love how she lets me get out of bed, get cats sorted, have couple cups coffee open windows etc before she gets out bed.
Love how she chases after stick or ball but never brings it back.
Love her for being her and letting me look after her..

1. when Hes really tired he does a cute contented sigh and snuggles down.
2. when he sees people his whole back end wags
3. when we have a treat and ask him to give paw he will try and do everything bless him.
4. snuggles and snores in your ear
5. when you come in from work and snuggle him he growl with excitement and sounds aggressive lol
6. the way he will try and scratch with his back leg and always misses so I have to scratch him

Dogs are the BEST!!!

I was thinking about this on a one by one basis, but then decided that what I love most in my dogs' behaviours are all their interactions with each other. Watching them play makes me laugh out loud, seeing Millie work to get Nola to play (we all know she'll give in eventually), plus of course the Bark Chorus, there really is nothing that beats it. And then when the do settle down, having them cuddle up together is wonderful.

And then I realise how lucky we are to have 3 dogs who all get on so well. All the dogs we've ever had together have been good (well, nearly always...), but sometimes it was in a much quieter way. These 3 are just fab, the best.
