Boating

I just bought a boat with my Dad so iam heading up to Sydney on the 25th July to hit the water for some fishing & Samba will also be coming out on the water also. I have bought Samba a life jacket which he will be wearing  http://www.ezydog.com.au/flotation-vests/ . I was wondering if anyone else has been boating with there Staffy, i know every dog is different but did they enjoy it. Samba likes the water & he's been fishing (land based) with us before but he's never been in a boat so iam hoping he'll love it. & yes i'll be taking the camera so there will be pics

Awesome ! Where abouts are you taking him here ? I'm sure he'll love it if he loves the water, good luck !! can't wait to see pics. I'm hoping to get Koda to the beach this Summer before it gets too hot.

Parents live in the Sutherland Shire & we'll be fishing on the Port Hacking heading towards Cronulla/Bundeena. Cant bloody wait, iam wondering what Samba will do when we drag a fish onboard & its flapping around on the deck, will be funny to see how he reacts.

i have a scarab 255 at our place in cornwall and tessa always comes out with us and seems to enjoy it. she goes nuts when i get the jackets out of the truck.

That sounds like soooo much fun! Can just imagine him bobbing around. I haven't got any experience but I wish I did! Hopefully someone will be along soon

Ive tried to take my staffy with me fishing on my kayak but hes not up for it. He doesnt mind the shallows but thats about it.
I hope you both have a ball.

WOW beautiful boat mate, my boat is not as flash its just a 4m tinnie (aluminium) for rivers, lakes & estuaries. Great to hear Tessa loves being on the water.

I was going to buy a kayak for the rivers down my way when we go camping along the Murray River but i was worried Samba might not like it. Its a shame your boy did't take to it.

Last christmas when i was up in Sydney visting the family we took Samba to the beach & he had a ball. There's a 'dog off leash' beach inbetween Coledale & Austinmer.

Ohhh that's not too far from me, I wish I trusted Koda off lead !!!!

yeah thanks fantastic boat but, although cornwall is gorgeous, i think i would rather be tooling round your neck of the woods in it.
