First negative reaction
In a shop yesterday getting another ID tag for Iza and woman at till asks what type dog I had so I say a staff. Well she screwed her face up and I said hey they are the most loving friendly dogs ever. She said someone else said that but I come from Newcastle and met some nasty ones. I replied blame the owners not the dog and left.
And the shop was canine rescue charity shop Dumfries of all places grrrrr

Let the charity know, Col. They'd probably be horrified to know that one of their volunteers was saying stuff like that and have a word with the manager.

I'll not be tempted into mentioning the fact she's a Geordie
It's such a shame that someone in that position has a go at any breed.

Makes me so sad when this happens. I agree with Liz about reporting them. I wish everyone could see what a soppy wonderful breed they are. Even my mum who is very well spoken and very respected in her company said she had to butt in a conversation at work as a guy was saying he had a staff and how lovely the dog is, this women said oh they are horrible and vicious. My mum questioned her about why she felt that way and she was wrong as her granddaughter is a staffy x. The women admitted she had no reason and its just what she had seen in the media. So sad.

Re: First negative reaction
Sod the haters cos of a few irresponsible and minute majority they think all staffy owners are irresonsible and the dogs vicious !! Got the same reaction the other day in the vet his collie was on an extended lead i said before you come any closer my dog doesnt like big dogs. By this point mia had a deep guttral growl in her throat. I just placed my hand over her muzzle and said quiet . There was 2 smaller dogs directly to her left didnt bother her. but then if you from a pup were kept in a kitchen in a cage unsocialised for three years you can understand my poor dogs point doesnt mean shes a bad dog just bad owners . Then 2 woman came past and went awww isnt she cute i said aye shes my wee auld wifey that loves kids and small dogs.
