Thanks for your comebacks ,I am working on recalls, some treats work others don't,found that she is par shall to
cheese so give that at various times during the walk so as she doesn't get to know when she will be put on the lead, she's a knowing little thing so far this is working out ok,but suspect will have recall problems as she gets older,as she is only 15 weeks, will carry on working on recall.

If you expect problems you may well get them and even the tiniest bit of uncertainty can transmit to your pup.

Teaching recall to a puppy isn't really very hard. Start in the house. When she's next to you and looking at you, say 'come' and give her a treat. (I'd go easy on the cheese for a wee one, it's high fat, so maybe make every 5th treat cheese so it's always worth trying, just in case.) Do this several times, at odd times during the day, and she'll soon understand that 'come' means have a treat.

Then work with her in the same room but not next to you. Call her, always with the same word 'come' and when she does give her her treat. Once this is easy, then you can call her in exactly the same way when she's in a different part of the house.

This should only take a few days, then you'll be ready for the big outdoors. Again start really easy, with her not far away and looking at you. Call her and give her lots of praise and her treat. 5 minutes later do it again, and just at odd times call her to you and every single time give her praise and a treat.

Never call her if you don't think she'll come, so if she's walking off or if she's found a particularly interesting smell. Wait until she's moving off from the smell or whatever, then call her. If you call her at the wrong time and she doesn't come, and do that a few times, she can very easily learn that she can ignore you.

Just put those few days of training and you should be fine.

Great advice above. To offer other high value treats other than cheese you could try good old fashioned sausage or Frankfurters which seem to go down well, obviously treat sized Wink
