dry food recomendations - Beau is off her food Empty Beau is off her food

Post by Beau&co Thu Jun 04 2015, 14:31

Hi my little mate has been off her food now for 3-4 days, although she seems quite happy in herself. I think that perhaps i am to blame for this as i put a little bit of fish on her biscuits while i was making dinner a few days ago, now she turns her nose up at just the biscuits!
She has james wellbeloved, not sure what to do, might have made a rod for my own back with the fish thing! Any help gladly received.

I wouldn't worry as its very hot down here. Peppa is the same waiting for me to add something good . You have 2 choices either add fish/egg/carrot/coconut cream/wet food etc to her food or just leave it there till she is hungry enough to eat it. I think they are just like us and get bored having the same thing all the time so I always change and luckily my pups got strong Tum so that works for us with raw food over weekends.

Misty was exactly the same. She was fed Bakers by her old owners, we put her on Wainwrights, she loved that for a while then turned her nose up. We tried James wellbeloved which she loved then started going off that, we used to put some of their wet food. in until she went off it. Now shes on natures menu and she absolutely loves it. We give her the country hunter frozen nuggets and the same tins. Fingers crossed she doesnt go off that!

Try putting hot water on it until it cools down and it'll release the flavour a little.

Thanks for the advice, I tried putting a small amount of fish in her biscuit again just to try and get her to have something, the cheeky little madam just licked all the fish off the biscuits and left them in the bowl! I might change the biscuits at the weekend and see how that goes

Thank you, we did give that a try but she still left them, may be time for a gradual food change

They can be fussy sometimes, we had a similar issue and had to do away with a few choices before we found what Flo likes Rolling Eyes

They can be fussy little buggers! It's either a case of tough love. Keep giving her the same until she eats it or have a try of some other foods. Swap gradually incase she gets an upset tummy and I hope you find something Smile Have you tried cracking an egg on and mixing it in? Might be a bit harder for her to just lick that off Big Grin
