Hey all
Iv posted loads about our 2 yr olds behaviour and things improved with help here and behaviourists.......however......one thing both behaviourists and ourselves cant stop is the lunging and barking and other noises when theres an animal or anything randomly on tv. She will fly at tv going mental.
Our neighbours have complained and my mum is sick fed up with it. We cant even watch anything and ads are a nightmare. This started after the behaviourist saying to ignore other things. Were really stuck

Suki used to do this as well. Wish there was an easy answer but we just kept leaving the TV on so she would get used to it. You can teach her to speak and then teach the quiet command.

Its a hard one. Weve tried ignoring it, distraction and making her sit or lie and treating etc etc etc.....its just gettin worse though.
I dont know why she does it

I think they can't distinguish between the TV and what is actually there. Other than the quiet command I can't think of anything else

Have the behaviourists looked at counter conditionning, so teaching your girl to associate the noises with something positive? Say if they haven't and I'll explain how it works.

Theyve not Liz. We spent a small fortune on behaviourists 1 covered by insurance and its not been massively succesfull.
My other thought was seeing as both suggestions were to distract and get her back and reward isnt working....would blasting a silent whistle work as the distractor?

Also i saw a thing called a quiet dog which is basically a piec if elastic and its meant to calm when on muzzle. It sits on like a collar and when they bark u pull down, twist and put the loop on the nose. It says kind and effecrive. Il try anything

Some people too. Our neighbour apparently banged up last night regarding the barking. Now the dog is always settled and quiet at night and this was about 915 at night. They have a damn cheek as when the mother goes out the 27 yr old girl has parties with music on til midnight. It stresses my mum though as she doesnt want grief! I hate people like that that just cant realise we all here noise from each other its not even late so f#$k off lol!
