Sad but...
Not a nice thing to happen to anyone's family pet, however, I do wonder whether this would have got any column inches had it not been a Staffy involved but some other terrier

Re: Sad but...
But no other dog would ever do this Ian. Only a staffy would ever be capable of this.... I would question how do they know for definite it was a staffy as they haven't spoken to the dogs owner. I like the way they managed to inform us she was wearing a hoody. It is a really really horrible thing to happen and it must be horrible for both owners but if they live behind a park where dogs go wouldn't they have made sure the kitten couldn't get out to the park? Sorry if I'm going on but the way the article is written has got to me.

And don't forget it was a 'ferocious' staffie, Emma.
You're right, no other dog playing in a park would have gone anywhere near a cat. Just like a cat would never go anywhere near a bird or mouse. Idiot journalism.

Exactly why I posted it here, I couldn't believe what I was reading to be honest. I thought about posting a comment on that article but thought that might seem insensitive.

"Benny was a present for her and her partner's two children, aged eight and five and that she will be campaigning for MP Paul Scully to champion a law that will see dogs muzzled while out in public."
I think I'll start campaigning for all idiot cat owners to be muzzled in public, that way we needn't listen to their ridiculous witterings. Sad for the cat but Breaking News: Dogs Don't Like Cats.

Re: Sad but...
Always feel sad after reading a story like this.
Many or most dogs don't like cats as that's a dogs 'Natural Instinct'.
All we can do as dog owners is do our best to train our dogs 'Not' to attack Cats/Kittens or any other animals for that matter, but sadly the odd accident can happen, unfortunately.
I also wonder whether this would have been printed had it been another breed ? but maybe we know the answer to that one by the way its been written.
