dry food recomendations - Tipping food out Empty Tipping food out

Post by ninz Thu May 14 2015, 18:40

Casper insists on tipping out his food by head butting his bowl. When he has tipped most of it out he will eat what is left in the bowl, then go and clear the floor. Anyone have any ideas why he does this? I'm so glad he's on dried food for the sake of my floors!

Nope not got a clue, however, my Flo often drops half of hers as she eats it and always does a super job of cleaning up Laughing

That's an odd one! What style of bowl does he have? Could you try feeding him in a heavier bowl?

Maybe he just likes making a mess Tongues

Can you glue it to the floor? Laughing Maybe some sort of training at dinner time could help? Or try putting small amounts at a time in the bowl, let him finish it and then put some more?

He's not done it today, but I think that's because he had no energy to headbutt the bowl as I dragged him through the woods before his meal tonight-yes you read that right I dragged him not the other way around Laughing usually I get home from work, he runs around the garden for half an hour, food then walk. So I might just try walk then food again and see if it has the same result as tonight. If not then tonight was down to him being too confused at the change of routine lol

Arlo does this too, I'll put his food in the bowl, and he straight away pushes it over with his paw and eats it off the ground
