Dog Help!

Post by peppa Fri May 01 2015, 19:57

I'm having a puppy here and although I cleared all my place he chewed an old used battery! About 15 min ago . He seems fine at moment . Any experience like that? Obviously I'm watching him .

Marley chewed up a couple of AA batteries once when he was a pup and was fine. gave his mouth a good look over and kept an very close eye on him.

Inez you are spot on! He is really energised and usually he's the laziest pup ever. Otherwise he's his usual naughty self. He did drink a lot yesterday and today had horrible chemically smelling strange poo today so it looks like its out of him. Nathan that's a relief to know Marley is ok but the things they eat!
Hope there's no damage done but don't think so.

If you think he had ingested any I would say it's a vets job personally.

Hm, I've had a look online and it says if injected it could cause sores/burns etc to his mouth and tummy with nausea/vomiting. Guess you could always call your vet to ask for advice but they will likely recommend bringing him in. Had he eaten anything else out of the ordinary for him to cause the unusual motions?

No nausea/vomiting and he's got very good appetite he played for hours last night and was very lively so I really don't think he was uncomfortable or in any pain. If he did i would have find a vet . He manage to split the battey but I doubt he actually ate it. It's hard to tell as its powder.
