slowly but surely getting there
Hey all. Been a while but with work, behaviourist appointments (for the dog not myself lol) and taking advantage of the spell of nice weather iv not been on as much.
Were definately making progress, she turned 2 in march!!! Cant believe it.
Weve got the barking at tv to reduce greatly and usually its a little whine like i really wanna bark at tht but i know il get into trouble, which is fine as i just talk quietly to her til whatever it is has gone away.
Shes unfortunately just not trustworthy off lead yet on normal walks as she goes from hyper to manic in a second and can jump up and nip a little.....but there is 2 rescues staffys in the area and she can get off with them as she just joins in their games, but other than that its long lead walks and good hikes in the nice weather she loves. Iv let her off later on a couple times and played ball and practiced coming back which has been fine. Both behaviourist have said the same its singleton pups they usually have behavioural issues
1 thing is she seems very protective all of a sudden like yest a couple were walking towards us and thats fine but they stipped to look up a tree and that spooked her its like a "why have they stopped they might do something". And also she really barks at kids on scooters and some buggies, it seems to be random. If she does i turn round to break her sight from it and go around them.
Trying to budget for a good big fence just now as we cant chill in the garden as there are cats appearing every 5 mins!!!! She hates them.
Shes also really calmed with the kids in the family and iv had ber around more trying to get her used to seeing them on bikes n scooters.
So yeah were kinda gettin there now as i say its watching for the turn from hyper play to im gonna mouth now n go into that zone.
Shes so vocal and growly when playing lol.

Re: slowly but surely getting there
That is really good news and I'm sure you are now feeling a lot
more positive and that in itself will help you progress.
I must say how much I really admire you for all your efforts as I
know first hand just how frustrating it can be.
Good Luck, keep up the good work and one day you will suddenly
realise just how far you have come and that will be your greatest
reward

Ah great news... Lizzie is quiet right in that the less stressed you are the better things will be so a win win all round. Sounds like she fell on her Paws when you came in to her life
