Happy Gotcha, Chaos!

It's just one year today that Chaos came to visit and decided to stay.

We'd been to the rescue centre to look for a dog the previous day and had known as soon as we saw him that he was our dog. Because we had Bobbert, whose dreadful past meant he was human aggressive as well as iffy with dogs sometimes, and who couldn't cope with the stress of kennels (he was in kennels for 3 years) we'd arranged to meet away from all the barking but on the neutral territory of Tiptree Heath.

Charley from AA Dog Rescue came over with him and the two boys were fine, even to the point of snuffling around together, so we then came home to do an off lead dog meet and for Chaos to meet Nola. All went well and of course we had our home check at the same time.

We were supposed to be going on holiday the following week (the first in 8 years!), so the plan was for Chaos to go back to AA's kennels to board there until we were back. He had other ideas, and flatly refused to get back in the van. All four legs spread, he just wasn't having it. So there was only one thing for it really, wasn't there? My husband went on holiday with Nola but I stayed behind with the two boys.

It's been one heck of a year!

Happy gotcha Chaos. I am so glad you found a loving mummy daddy and doggy friends in one family. I nearly cried reading about you.

Happy gotcha day to you both. I loved the part about Chaos refusing to get back in the van. He obviously knew what a wonderful life was waiting for him with you. Lovely pics.
