Hello Everyone
Hello everyone,
Well after spending a ridiculous amount of time reading all the old posts on this forum I think it's time I said hello.
I am a proud mummy to my little girl Misty, a fifteen month staffy x boxer. We rehomed her as her previous owners couldn't cope. Well I can safely say she has changed our lives in every way. My husband and I are completely in love with her. When my beloved black lab passed away in 2009 for years I couldn't bear to look at a dog or hear anything about a dog as it broke my heart. She was my mum and dads dog and we were blessed to have her for sixteen fantastic years. Last year I slowly started to think about maybe having a dog but both me and my husband who also grew up with dogs knew how much hard work they are and we wanted to ensure we could both be responsible parents. So for nearly a year we both started walking to make sure we could give a dog the exercise they require. We went out to woods and parks on the weekends and after work, hubby went for walks in the day when i was at work. We knew that we could afford to lookafter a dog and there would be no shortage of love or playtime but we wanted to make sure we could cater to every need. I always remember my dad taking our lab out for so many walks each day so we wanted to make sure we could do it. I did a huge amount of research on breeds of dog. We wanted a dog who is affectionate, loving and fun and we came across the staff. My husband had fond memories of his childhood friends staffy who was all play and loved any human. By coincidence one night we were walking and a young guy was walking a beautiful big dog who kept staring at us. The dog wouldn't move so we said to the guy it's ok if he wants to come to say hello. He then brought his dog to us and we were smitten, this dog was lovely. We were talking to the guy about his dog and asked what it what was and he slightly nervously said a boxer x staff then quickly followed with staffs are great dogs, they are called nanny dogs. We reassured him we knew that and his dog was gorgeous. We felt sad that this guy who was a great owner had to worry about telling people his dog was a staffy as he would be prejudged as he was young and wearing a tracksuit when in reality his dog was a beautiful boy and very well looked after. Hubby and i went home that night and knew it had to be a staffy. Nearly six weeks ago our lives changed forever. We were blessed with our little girl. She hasn't had the best start in life sadly but now she is in her forever home and will never want for anything. She is such an angel, we have taken her to my parents and they are in love with her. Now I'm always getting harassed to go see them but must bring their grandchild. It's so nice having her at home, my hubby is at home with her during the day and when I get home after work the welcome i get takes about fifteen minutes. She has truly made us so happy and it's lovely to look at this forum and read about people who love their gorgeous dogs.

Hi Ian and the gorgeous Flo,
Thanks for the welcome. Yes I know now what is meant by the term staffy kisses. I've never met a more affectionate dog in my life. They really are wonderful.

Re: Hello Everyone
Hello everyone, thank you all for the lovely welcome. It's so nice to see everyone's beautiful Staffies. I feel like I know lots of you already having read so many of the posts on here.
Hi Helen, I normally walk her in Laleham park. I live nearby and it's a great walk, however she's on short walks now as the poor thing has hurt her back leg. Whereabouts do you walk Cooper (he's gorgeous)
