Kennel food, ring own.
What type do they use? Or is best to bring Iza own food. My local kennel said they use chappie wet so not sure. Don't want her hooked on it going by some reviews.

Re: Kennel food, ring own.
My boy is on Chappie after searching for a food that doesn't give him really constant sloppy poops. Since he's been on Chappie wet his poops are firm (hooray) and he's a happy chappie (pardon the pun) looking gr8.

Biscuit did really badly on chappie, her feet were red raw and she lost lots of weight (was on it when in kennels) but all dogs react differently to different food. It's basically just cereal and wheat, has derivatives of meat and vegetable ORIGIN lol!! http://www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk/dog-food-reviews/0175/chappie-adult-complete

I would bring her food with her so her stomach isn't upset. If you have the time and are thinking of switching I would do it before your trip

I wouldn't let Bo stay anywhere he couldn't eat his own food. It will be a cold day in Hell before he gets any of that supermarket rubbish down his hairy throat

Re: Kennel food, ring own.
Ours include Arden Grange kibble in the kennel fee but as we now feed raw Ledger goes with a batch of portions to cover his stay (defrosted for the first couple days worth and frozen if he's staying longer) I wondered if it would be an issue for them but apparently many of the cats they have staying are raw fed so they have more than enough freezer space

Re: Kennel food, ring own.
take a food they are used too. dont need anymore stres than they need so will prob go off it for a day or so anyway. switching food in that enviroment is a ticket to sloppy poop and dehydration

Re: Kennel food, ring own.
It's strange how one dog's food can be another's poison so to speak. Milo really has taken to Chappie, it's made his poops firmer, his coat is shiny and glossy, he's playful, active and looking great. I'm very pleased with it. My hubby is an ex police dog handler and they were all fed Chappie so it can't be that bad surely.

No, that just means that someone has chosen Chappie - they possibly get a good deal buying in bulk.

Re: Kennel food, ring own.
Yeah they would've bought in bulk but the dogs all did well on it and were extremely fit.
