hi, has anyone here herd or know of any reason why my bitch would not have had her first season , she is now 12 months nearly 13 , and not had 1, vet has said because of her breed she could take a while , thanks

Sometimes it can take a year and a half id seek advice from another vet

Having never had a girl I wouldnt know, but like us girlys we can all start at different times. Again I would get a second opinion if yer worried xx

I've heard they can start anywhere between 6-18 months something to do with the size of the breed Smile

thank you peeps, I heard just that, I think that's why the vet don't seem that bothered, but I am , has anyone heard of the silent season ? apparently they have 1 but its not noticeable to other dogs, although we have another female dog who did try to get amorous with her I little while back , strangest sight lol

As long as your vet is aware and not concerned, I wouldn't worry too much! I've always had spayed rescue girls, so not much experience with first seasons!
