Hi all :-) We have a nearly 6 month old staffy called Teddy. We had him on 30th October 14 at 8 weeks old. He is very dark brindle with little white flashes, he's pretty gorgeous! First few weeks were soo hard I thought we made a mistake getting him but now that he is trained he really is the best dog ever and couldn't imagine our life without him now :-)

My only concern is that he seems really skinny and tall! We saw both his parents who are stocky and short legged. He is fully upto date with his injections, worming and flea treatment and is fed wainwright's puppy food about 500g (split into 2 feeds) along with whatever treats he has too and he always seems soo hungry. Is this right? Should I be concerned or should I be feeding him more? Thanks for your help xx

Hiya from me and Vinnie, as long as you go by the guideline on the pack that should be sufficient, I dont know when the switch is to adult as I dont feed dried. They do go through a lanky stage but all grow differently. I wouldnt worry he will develop at his own rate Big Grin

Hi and welcome from us. Our girl is 11 months and looks a bit lanky, but she's only 16.5 inches. But they look different everyday as they grow! Laughing
We feed dry and we know how difficult it can be to ensure you're feeding correctly. One of the things you have to do is estimate their adult weight. Why not phone the breeder and ask the parents weights. I would imagine he would be similar to his pop. You could also phone the Wainwrights and ask them for advice, I phoned JWB for advice. And we still weigh every meal.
I could be wrong, but I think 500g seems a lot. Theia, est adult weight of 18/19kg, is fed 130g twice per day. But we are on different food remember, so check before you alter the amount.

Hello and welcome to the forum Smile

Staffs don't tend to be fully grown until 2 years of age. So don't be worried about his size, he will fill out in his own time. Being hungry all the time is normal as well...he's a growing boy! Just make sure you don't over feed. Go by the amount shown on the packet. A lot of people on here feed their dogs on raw.
