How much is too much?
Peppa is 15 months 19inch and weights 19 kg most days she's running around for 2hrs + 2 hrs walk I feed her 2x 450g packs of raw meat+veg and few bones and sardines a week.
She's looking great slim and athletic but do you think it might be too much? When I give her a 1.5 pack she stays hungry I also think that berriewoods is not very high quality and will order elsewhere soon.
I switched her to completely raw about 7 weeks ago and she seems to be doing very well and the constant pooing is completely gone I think she's much better without dry food.Last edited by peppa on Thu Jan 22 2015, 20:44; edited 1 time in total

Re: How much is too much?
I would go by how she looks rather than if she stands around wanting more. Bane often scoffs his food then sniffs round the kitchen for more and then stares us down while we eat ours! but he is a healthy athletic looking weight!
He is coming up to 18 months, 26kg and has about 650g just meat and bone per day with treats and stuff on top. Each dog is different and she sounds very active. Still young too so may still have a bit of growing to do
You say you think Berriewoods isn't very good quality. What makes you think that? We use DAF which we find really good! Their minces are just pure meat, bone and offal though without added veg/rice so maybe that makes a difference in how much they need?

Re: How much is too much?
Hi Emma She's very muscly athletic to the verge of ripped and I think got lot of growth still in her so ill keep her on that .
Berriewoods - it never said it in the Internet it's supposed to be pure raw meat but it actually says it contains meat_+derivatives on the pack itself I don't know if that's only berriewoods or normal but I don't like the way it looks or smells comparing to natures menu for example the tripe which peppa likes looks and smells greyish.. And the turkey pups wouldn't touch and I can't blame her the beef is okish and the medium bones I ordered are still feeling the fridge and pups loves bones usually so I had to throw quite a lot for 56£ .
I'm going to try the company Lizp recomanded as DAF won't deliver to london and natures menu is very complicated and expensive to order .

Re: How much is too much?
It sounds like you are getting it right You'll soon notice if she starts to look a bit podge!
Derivatives in raw sounds a bit odd...not sure whether it would just mean the whole animal has been used in the mince or if they are substituting good meat to make it cheaper? I don't remember what it says on the DAF box labels, will have a check next time!
I know Bane can be a little funny with meat from different places. He will eat DAF chicken wings no problem but turns his nose up at Supermarket ones some times. Maybe it does vary in smell and flavour?
The tripe doesn't sound very appealing :/ You want it as green as you can get it! Good luck with the new suppliers! Let us know how you get on
I know I was looking at Berriewoods at one point but think I will stay away now
