Pru is driving me crazy!
Hey guys.
So pru is 11 months old now and up until now I've always worked from home so we've been together since day one, when I go out she's crated as well as at night so she's pretty used to being alone in that.
On Monday I started a new job in an office which means I'm out of the house from 9-5 most week days. I decided to install baby gates in the kitchen so she can be out an about while I'm at work and a dog sitter comes in every day and takes her out for a 1 hour walk.
Despite all of this she has chewed something up every single day this week, the first was the worst... the carpet. The second was the little filter cover from the washing machine, then the oven gloves and a pair of scissors (!) I try to make sure nothing is within reach but I suspect she might be jumping onto the worktops as the cats food was all over the place today.
I have tried leaving her loads of toys and kongs and even old cartons filled with biscuits but she still seems to destroy at least one thing. I desperately need some advice or else I'm definitely losing my rental deposit / mind!

Think it's just going to be time to get used to the routine - it's a massive change for her.

agree with Ian,i think its just going to take a bit of time, have you tried taking her out for a long walk before you go,there are 3 days a week when sash is left most of the day and i always walk her before i go.

Re: Pru is driving me crazy!
It is a big change and my Flo used to cry when we left as told to us by our very understanding neighbour. It took a while for her to settle down but she was on the table and pinching things from the kitchen etc.
You're doing the right things by leaving her with things to occupy her but the thing is she is still young and mischievous. Remove everything you can from reach and leave her with rope toys and treat toys etc. a good walk before you leave will tire her out too which should make for good sleeping.
They do get better... Honest

Re: Pru is driving me crazy!
tbh there realy isnt alot you can do if you arnt there. i went through the same thing with my two and lost two sofas, stair carpet, lots of table legs and variouse bin raids. they do get used to it and they now sleep most of the time im out at work. they love habbit and hate change but will eventually adapt.

Re: Pru is driving me crazy!
Thanks guys, I think I'm going to start leaving a whole box of her toys in with her to hopefully keep her busy. Walking her before work is kind of out of the question because I already have to get up at 6am and I have sleep problems. Hopefully she'll settle down once she gets used to the idea a bit.
