Cracking bones! Empty Cracking bones!

Post by Rubio Fri Jan 16 2015, 11:53

My dog is constantly stretching when he wakes up like all dogs (or hanging off the couch with his front paws on the ground and his back end looking like a spatchcock chicken!). What I was wondering was if it was normal to hear some of his joints crack when he does this, just like a human's might? It's not excessive or anything but I was just wondering if anyone else has the same experience? He is still quite a young dog and has just gone a year old.

Must admit that it isn't something I've heard from ny Flo. Might be worth mentioning to the vet at the next check up as suggested above.

I do it and both my dogs will do it after a work out and stretch. i did look into the reasons but its inconclusive in both humans and dogs but all say its nothing to worry about. some say its the tendons snapping over joints while others say its nitrogen bubbles in the joints. I wouldnt worry too much, sometimes the day after a long ride i sound like a pile of twigs being walked on and marley is the same
