Chickens anyone?
Just wondering if anyone else on here has chickens and if so have you any tips on introducing your staffy to them without a bloodbath? My previous staff, Bree, was fine with them & they even used to chase her round the garden but we already had her when the chooks arrived and they weren't let out in the garden for about 2 months until they'd grown a bit.
The hens free range in the afternoon behind a fence which seperates half the garden but it prevents Milo going toilet on the grass when he wants to.

Re: Chickens anyone?
going to depend on the drive, when you introduce and individual to the dog. Marley has a very strong prey drive and will go for most things yet birds scare the crap out of him. he chased ducks into a canal once thinking he could walk on water but sank like a stone and i had to fish him out by his harness. ever since he has been scared shitless by them. my exes dog doesnt give a chuff about anything but birds and will run after them as does my bros dobe. Im quite sure i could keep chickens as I could could imagine marley being surrounded by them with big sad eyes pleeding for help...its such a gamble

Re: Chickens anyone?
We have chickens and haven't even tried to get Chaos 100% chook friendly. If they don't move he's fine(ish), but if they do move he's fiendish!
As Nathan says, though, it does depend on how strong the prey drive is. Is Milo a chaser in general - bunnies, rats, cats?
