What to mix with Frozen Tripe
Milo is fed on Butchers Tripe Mix tinned meat with Wainwrights Complete dry food occasionally. I've bought some frozen tripe packs from P@H which say once thawed to mix with other things ie rice / potato / fruit / veg etc.,
Can I just feed it on its own as its only an occasional treat from his usual food or does it have to be mixed with something?
Also they're in 400g blocks. Milo weights approx 16.75 k. Could you advise how much to give him please?

Re: What to mix with Frozen Tripe
The sooner I feed him the better - it's outside thawing out and Milo has been virtually climbing the fence trying to reach the shelf since about 11am this morning. Driving me nuts!
I think I'll mix some Wainwrights with it. I can't wait to see his reaction.

Re: What to mix with Frozen Tripe
jenny you can give it by itself no problem or add rice( brown is better) carrot, pepper, fresh or cooked broccoli, tomato, egg but dont mix it with dry food as its completely different digestion. im sure milo is going to love it like pupsky does and its so much better than butchers deriatives and additives

Re: What to mix with Frozen Tripe
I bet he was climbing the fence trying to get at it Smells delicious doesn't it? Haha
Raw green tripe is fine to feed by itself. If he is not on a whole raw food diet, it would be best fed apart from biscuits as they digest at different times and could cause an upset tummy.
You can feed veg and rice with it, although dogs don't really get much from those foods so it's equally as good on its own as a meal.
As for weight, a raw food diet is fed at about 2-3% of the dogs adult body weight per day. So if he weighs 16.75kg, he should have 335g-500g ish per day. If he has quite an appetite on him and is energetic feed to the higher end.
I hope he enjoyed it

Re: What to mix with Frozen Tripe
I used to feed my EBT on frozen green tripe
I used to mix it with granary bread (as did the breeder with all his dogs) .. freezer in the garage, and a camping stove to cook it on in the garden

Re: What to mix with Frozen Tripe
Wow - thats great thanks. He had 3/4 of a 400g pack mixed with a tiny bit of his Butchers wet food and woofed it down - loved it so much. Today I bought a pack of chicken wings at only £2.50 for about 20? He loves those so much. I held on to it til he got the idea of crunching the bones or he would have swallowed it whole I think lol.

Granary bread Andy?? I've not heard of a dog having bread with his meat. I have the seeded batch loaves would that be the same? I actually dropped the tripe into the chickens corn bin by mistake (clumsy me) so it had a very light corn coating lol. He didn't seem to mind it tho. I scratched most of it off

I know, I hadn't either, but the breeder (and well known international EBT judge apparently) who sold his pups all over the world, swore by it ... who knew
My boy certainly did well on it that's for sure
