Surprised Dog Clothing

Post by Millerpup Sun Dec 21 2014, 07:47

My eldest staff has colour dilute alopecia and feels the cold !
The older he gets the more hair he loses but his skin beneath is pigmented so he doen't look odd. In this cold snap he's in and out all day through the dog flap (its a big one ) in the garden and his skin is sometimes cold to touch so im on the hunt for something lighter than a dog coat that would give him a layer of warmth.
But i have had extreme difficulties in finding clothing for him that isn't a novelty that makes him look like a christmas cracker, or dresses him up to look like a handbag dog lol that i can buy.
Ideally i would like some basic vests T shirt type material or a sweatshirt type that i can put on him and shove in the washing machine when they get dirty.
Does anyone out there know where i could get some ?

Love my boys !

Do you have any local markets to try? if you get the material from them they'll be able to get you rolls of it the same way they have it.

Hi Stella Didn't mind at all and thank you all for your quick responses.
rachel 33 thats just the thing i am after (not in pink though) lol.

I've found some... Yippeee took me nearly all day and trawling through loads of web sites but i have found them in a variety of colours with Aberdoggie & Fetch written on the back. I have ordered a couple and i will let you know what they are like.

Thanks again if it wasn't for your leads i wouldn't have come across them.

might not seem like much but can make a huge difference to paws and that is mushers secret. will guard against the cold on paws and also keep off all the salt that is around this time of year. only about 10 quid a pot and last a whole season. i use it on mine for running and only need to use a pea sized application each foot once a week. also known as the invisible boot, and yes its that effective, my guys feet take a pounding and when marley split a paw he healed it in one week with this stuff. you can get it from amazon for a decent price.
