Hi From Bruno : )
Hey People,
ok so iv been a member of this forum since the day i got my 10 Month old staffy Bruno, we never really said much but i used the site as a guide training techniques and reviews on Toys Etc.
i just wanted to share with you the past 2 years with you all just to show you all how much of an impact this forum does make to the right owner.
we got 10 month old Bruno from my partners Cousin who had 2 she had Bruno and a 9 Year Old staffy girl, she also had a Disabled Daughter so whith Bruno being so hyper he would cause harm or damage to her not intentially, so we agreed to take him on. when we got him home he chewed the carpet pooed all over the house etc, he was over active and didnt listen to any one, he pulled like a train when walked and would snap at anything that moved outside.
around 8 Months before we got bruno we also had our first child a boy,
over the years i have trained him using commands only (No Toys,Treats Clickers Etc) i have no experience training dogs this is my first dog that i have owned although growing up we allways had dogs.
i didnt want him to depend on anything if i wanted him to do it, and to be fair it wasnt long before he was just doing as he was told.
also with my sons toys and his for some reason mayby due to him being clever haha he knows the diffrence between his toys and my sons, Bruno and my son are growing up along side eachother and they are inseperable, they are like brothers being naughty together, for example when my son who is now 2 will be having his tea he will say share with POO BEAR (Which is what my son calls him, but for some reason bruno will come if he shouts poo bear but ignore if he shouts bruno n the other way round with us haha.
on the walking side of things they couldnt be any better, over time i have introduced him to various other dogs on our walks worked on recall etc and now we meet up with around 5-6 other dog walkers (sometimes less) and let all the dogs run riot, the most hes been was 9 at one time, since i started trusting him of the lead he has not shown one ounce of aggression and just loves to run,
theres a little manchester terrier whos one of his friends but hes so cheecky and nips brunos bum haha, but bruno sits there n lets him weired ey ha
so just wanted to let everyone know on here that alot of the progress i have done with bruno is down to this forum so a big thank you from Myself and Bruno : )
i will post an uptodated pic of bruno when i get home from work

That's a lovely post. Ralph was my first dog and I too found the forum not only a place to vent when he was nipping/jumping/going through 'phases', but also for brilliant ideas for toys, treats, games and training. All the guys on here do a fantastic job.

Re: Hi From Bruno : )
Fantastic mate and so glad you've done so well. sounds to me like you have a dog with alot of drive who loves to work. getting him to do your commands without treats and just praise shows his strong desire to please. its a method i use also, not because i have anything against treating but they just love to hear they have done well which feeds the drive (kinda hard to treat on a bike anyway). well done on a good job.
