Auri

So we've had Auri a couple of days now and she seems to be settling quite well.  She cried a couple of times the first night but after letting her out for a wee and snuggling her straight back in her mummy blanket she  settled back down.  We don't play with her or cuddle her during the night , just out for a wee and back to bed. She's been doing really well, she's obviously used to the crate. In the morning she sits patiently until you let her out.. and then goes waggy tail nuts for cuddles. Her first morning she backed up to my son's shoe and left him a smelly brown 'I love you' present

Today was a busy day, first visit to the vet, got her wee jag, worming medicine and a pedicure; signed up for a puppy party on the 8th and a quick stop to say hi to the lovely man at the pet shop who gave her puppy treats.

The neighbours have all been in to say hi and she loves the little girl next door very much because she's not scared at all and will get down on the floor and play tuggy with the rope

Oh and she's learned to climb the stairs  you forget have fast they move, needless to say next purchase is a stairgate !
We have a small table just in front of the couch and she has made herself a wee den under it. She drags all her toys in there except the ones she's playing with Her favourite place however is up on the couch beside me or on my lap
She's the sweetest wee pup and I'm afraid she's quite stolen my heart

Sounds like she's settling in just nicely Nicky. She also sounds like a bit of a minx

This week Auri has been exploring the house and garden. She managed to escape into next doors and ended up 'puppy knapped' for several hours.

She'll pee outside most of the time but still prefers to play 'hide the poo' in the house    She's getting better..at least she was until we had proper rain today and then it was 'no way Jose !' nothing would entice her into the garden and when i carried her out she just ran back to the doorstep..typical rain hating staffy    

Her favourite 'toy' is an empty coke bottle ! At first she went mad barking at it but now she loves chasing it round the living room.  She has 2 , one empty and one with a small amount of barley in it to make a noise. She chases and drags them around like a crazy thing. Her wee teeth aren't quite strong enough to pierce the plastic so for now she has great fun with them.  

She has her first puppy party on Monday but I'm working so the other half will be taking her. I'm sure she'll have lots of fun.

It seems every time she wakes up she's got a little bigger or a little stronger. It won't be long before she's too big to fit under my chin or on my shoulder for naps..though I'm sure she'll still try

They don't stay little long so I thought keeping a wee diary would be good to help me keep up with all the changes she will go through as she grows up. As usual though I get too busy and before you know it a month has gone by

So Auri has had all her jabs , been micro-chipped, attended puppy parties  and had her first walk.

Today I took her to the beach for the first time ( no pics , sorry but I forgot to take any). She met lots of dogs but after a quick sniff was more interested in huggies from the humans ! One lady was surprised she was a staffy 'but she is so friendly !' she said. 'Most of them are' says I. 'well done you ' says she. 'thanks ' says I.

Auri has learned to sit, lie and give paw. She will also 'leave' ( as long as you have a treat to swap). We are working on 'over' for rollover as she tends to do this naturally once she is lying down.

She is very affectionate as you would expect from a staffy and has a particular relationship with each of us. Jim is kinda big and there's not much room on his lap so Auri came up with her own solution.

She likes to go walkies but, in true staffy fashion, when it rains it's time to go home



I can't believe how quickly she is growing and will have to be more regular in updating her diary.
