"Homecheck"
Not naming any names - I had a homecheck for foster for a breed specific rescue yesterday, and it was AWFUL. Lady turned up with her teenage daughter - was planning on bringing her husband and dogs along too but changer her mind last minute?! I had clearly communicated her behavioural problems to the rescue.. Namely men/unknown dogs!
I gave Bug a kong to keep her occupied as she still gets a little worried with new people. They didn't take a look around the house/garden, or ask any questions. The daughter kept approaching Bug in her bed with her kong, so I put it up on the side for a while. Bug wasn't sure about interacting, but the daughter was being SO loud/squeaky/in her face (literally putting her face next to hers and squealing?!) I asked her to calm down, so she played with toys with her, but kept snatching them off her and missing her timings, so in turn getting fingers caught, so I just called Bug onto the sofa with me in the end. Was just horrendous.
I understand that home checkers are usually volunteers but you would think they would have some training. Lucky Bug has manners and has come so far with strangers, was so proud of her for keeping it together but wouldn't have blamed her for a growl.

Oh god Rachel that sounds terrible, to be honest I probably would have kicked the kid out in the garden lol.
Good girl Bis for not growling what a star. Can't believe how well you've done with her, more people should be like you and put the effort in, the results are amazing

Re: "Homecheck"
Jeez not very professional. They can't just turn up with people you don't know, family or not.

You would have thought that those volunteers that are selected would have some common sense wouldn't you.

Re: "Homecheck"
Have you fed back to whoever recruited the home checker? Might be worth an observation with concern that the daughters behaviour could have put her at risk with a less tolerant dog
