some dogs get very stressed in kennels & that's when home boarding might be useful.

the big problem with home boarding is you don't always know what the people are like & how they behave.

if the home boarder has good references & you can check they are proper references then it shouldn't be too bad.

She has loads of references & is coucil licenced & approved etc., He's already spent a 2 hour trial with her and then I left him for a half day (5 hrs) and he was fine but exhausted when he came home. I'm just such a worrier & only want the best for him.

I always home board Pru now. She stayed in kennels once and she came home really stressed out and smelly!

As above, as long as they have decent references and you can go and inspect where your pet will be staying I'd say they are preferable option.

I wouldn't put a dog into kennels unless there was no alternative and it was for something really important. Going to the RSPCA every week I see the new dogs coming in and I don't think there's one that looks happy.

We also live within barking distance of a local boarding kennels and some of the dogs sound so distressed. I'm sure the owners are told that their dog has been no trouble at all, etc., but I can hear how stressed they are. It must all be so baffling.

If you have a good home boarder, go for it!

If they have all the good reviews and are approved by the council etc. it sounds like it would be a decent place Smile I know they would always act differently with you there, but you could always ask if you could pop in and see them walking him and handling him?

I would struggle leaving Bane with anyone but my parents, just because I know for sure they would spoil him more than we do Laughing
